The New Library edition complete in twelve volumes, portraits and maps. A handsome set uniformly bound in a contemporary half polished calf binding with gilt lettering and decoration to the spines, white cloth covered boards wiht gilt stamped designs to the front boards; bindings generally very good with some general wear and rubbing to extremities and joints, a few volumes slightly chipped to head of the spines, but all volumes remain strong and firmly bound. All edges gilt. Contents clean and tight, contemporary engraved armorial bookplates (G. P. Dunn) to the front paste-downs, original marbled paper end papers. A very good tight set in attractive leather bindings.
